Open Letter

We believe cultural leadership requires a public voice. Our open letters, statements, and publications reflect our commitment to advancing equity, ownership, and visibility for Black Producers and equity-deserving creators in Canada’s screen and digital media sectors.

Through this work, we advocate for the policies, protections, and industry shifts needed to ensure our stories, companies, and communities are not only seen — but valued, supported, and positioned to lead.

IMPACT affirms the urgent need to protect Canada’s cultural sovereignty, strengthen Black and equity-deserving ownership in the screen-based sector, and ensure that future trade, digital, copyright, and artificial intelligence policies reflect the realities of Canadian creators and independent producers.
